Biography:

Dr. Ryan Hsi is an Associate Professor of Urology at the University of California, Irvine and a nationally recognized expert in kidney stone disease. He specializes in minimally invasive and endourologic surgery, offering advanced treatments such as ureteroscopy, laser lithotripsy, and mini and standard percutaneous nephrolithotomy. Dr. Hsi’s research focuses on improving the prevention, diagnosis, and management of kidney stones through clinical trials, health services research, and data-driven innovations. He has published over 100 papers in peer-reviewed journals. He is principal investigator for multiple NIH-funded studies, including projects to optimize kidney stone prevention and to develop national research networks for urinary stone disease. A recipient of the American Urological Association’s Gold Cystoscope Award, Dr. Hsi is committed to translating scientific discovery into better patient care. He is also deeply dedicated to education and mentorship, having received multiple resident teaching awards and trained numerous residents and fellows who now serve at leading medical centers nationwide.
